Des Moines to celebrate 4th of July with food, music and drone show at Marina

The City of Des Moines is inviting the community to a festive Fourth of July celebration at the Des Moines Marina on Friday, July 4, 2025, featuring food trucks, live music and a nighttime drone show in place of fireworks.

The event is free to attend and begins at 5 p.m. with food trucks offering BBQ and beverages from local vendors including Moe Vegan, WestCoast Seattle Boy, Yummy Box and So Chilly Ice Cream.

Live music kicks off at 6 p.m., followed by a drone light show over the water at 10:20 p.m.

NOTE: For safety, the beach and beach park will be closed to the public.

“Come early, grab a bite, enjoy the music, and watch the sky light up!”

The event is hosted by Destination Des Moines.
