College Way Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting ceremony will be Wednesday, Sept. 18

All are invited to join Highline College, the City of Des Moines and Sound Transit on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024 as they officially open College Way and the new main entrance to Highline College.

This free event will be held off Pacific Highway and directly across from the Kent-Des Moines Light Rail Station, which will open in 2026.

This celebration will start at 2:30 p.m.

Here’s what to expect:

• Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 2:30 p.m.
• We will gather around the roundabout (traffic circle with Highline College sign) on College Way and Highline College East Lot.
• Brief presentations by City of Des Moines, Highline College and Sound Transit.
• Refreshments and information provided by City of Des Moines, Highline College Foundation and Sound Transit.
