Free document shredding event at Des Moines Activity Center

Des Moines residents can safely dispose of sensitive documents during a free community shredding event on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Des Moines Activity Center, 2045 S. 216th Street (map below).

It is open to all Des Moines residents.

Each participant may bring up to 10 boxes or bags of documents. Staples and file folders may be left with the papers.

Cardboard, plastic, newspapers and X-rays will not be accepted.

The event is intended to give residents a secure way to destroy documents containing personal or sensitive information.
