Lighthouse Northwest 5K fundraiser returns to Des Moines Creek Park on Saturday, May 30

A community 5K run and walk aimed at supporting survivors of domestic abuse will return to Des Moines on Saturday, May 30, with organizers inviting participants from across South King County to take part.
The seventh annual Lighthouse Northwest 5K will be held from 9 a.m. to Noon at Des Moines Creek Park, with registration opening at 8 a.m., according to event organizers.
The family-friendly event raises awareness and funds for survivors as they rebuild their lives, with each $45 registration helping provide one night of safe housing and professional support services at Sacha’s House.
Schedule
- 8 a.m.: Registration & t-shirt pickup (while supplies last)
- 9 a.m.: 5K begins
- 9:30 a.m.: After party at the Quarterdeck begins

Two-time Olympian and Olympic semifinalist in the 400 meter hurdles, Jordin Andrade, is scheduled to participate in this year’s event.
Organizers said the event is open to runners, walkers and families, encouraging community members to participate and support local services for those in need.
