Local churches will join together for Thanksgiving service and food bank drive on Wednesday, Nov. 27

Local faith communities will come together for an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024 at 7 p.m.
The event, hosted by Southminster Presbyterian Church at 19834 8th Ave. S. (map below), aims to celebrate gratitude and unity among diverse religious traditions in the Des Moines area.
The service will feature participation from multiple faith organizations, including:
- Bet Chaverim
- City of Glory Church International
- Normandy Park United Church of Christ
- Prince of Peace Lutheran Church
- Saltwater Unitarian Universalist Church
- Southminster Presbyterian Church
All members of the community are invited to attend.
An offering will be collected to support the Des Moines Area Food Bank, and attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Southminster Little Free Pantry.
The event is free and open to the public, emphasizing inclusivity and the spirit of giving during the holiday season.
