Residents of Des Moines and surrounding areas are invited to join officers from the Des Moines and Normandy Park Police Departments for ‘Coffee with a Cop‘ this Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at North Hill Espresso, located at 20738 1st Ave South (map below).
The event offers an informal opportunity for community members to meet local officers, ask questions, voice concerns, and engage in meaningful conversation without the formality of a scheduled agenda or speeches.
In addition to coffee and conversation, an added bonus awaits attendees who own certain car models, including Hyundai, Kia, Chevrolet, Ford, or Toyota. Owners of these vehicles can receive a free steering wheel lock while supplies last. Proof of vehicle ownership will be required.
This initiative is part of broader community policing efforts aimed at fostering stronger relationships between local law enforcement and residents. By offering a relaxed setting, the event encourages open dialogue on neighborhood issues, public safety, and ways to improve collaboration between officers and the public.
For more information, attendees can contact Community Service Officer Tonya Seaberry at (206) 870-7619.
