Healthpoint broke ground Wednesday (Aug. 15) at the site that will house a new community health center for residents of Des Moines’ Midway neighborhood. Construction is expected to start next month at 26401 Pacific Highway South. When the 36,000 square foot building opens in Fall 2013, it will provide medical, dental, behavioral health and pharmacy services as well as leased space for community mental health offices supporting an anticipated 14,000 patients each year. The construction project is funded in part by a $650,000 Federal grant made possible by the Affordable Care Act. Healthpoint currently operates 13 clinics from Bothell to Federal Way.
