Des Moines Police responded Saturday afternoon, June 7, 2025 to a report of two children possibly drowning in the city’s Marina area, but officials later confirmed that both children were safely rescued and unharmed.

The incident occurred as the tide was coming in and waves began to rise.

In a Tweet posted just after 3 p.m., police said that a family member had managed to pull the children from the water safely.

Police confirmed the children were in good condition and did not require hospitalization.
