LETTER TO THE EDITOR: West Seattle’s Lady Liberty Project visits Des Moines’ Big Catch Plaza

West Seattle’s Lady Liberty Project visits Des Moines’ Big Catch Plaza!

Local protest group Seniors for the Constitution marched in the Des Moines Waterland Festival Parade on Saturday, July 18. Our Lady Liberty in a convertible was a hit with the children, who shouted, “We love you, Lady Liberty!”

So, we were delighted when five Lady Liberty costumed women arrived unannounced at our Seniors for the Constitution and Des Moines Indivisible rally at the Big Catch Plaza on Saturday, Sept. 5!

All of our groups work to defend our Constitution and our Democracy, including our right to vote. Our rally signs read “Hands off our Vote”! The League of Women Voters provided a voter registration table.

Seniors for the Constitution, Des Moines Indivisible, and the League of Women Voters will dedicate September and October to spread the word to voters…VOTE EARLY, make your vote count!

Join us at the Big Catch Plaza, 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, 4-5:30pm; 1st and 3rd Saturdays, 12-2pm. The fourth No Kings protest will happen on Saturday, Oct. 17, 12-2 p.m.
