A new paid workforce development program focused on live event production is launching this spring at The Roadhouse performance venue at Angle Lake Light Rail Station in SeaTac, offering South King County students hands-on training and stipends for participation.

The Cultural Workers Program, known as CWP, will run from April 21 to May 21, 2026, and is designed for high school and college students from SeaTac and surrounding communities, according to program materials.

Participants will receive professional training in stage management, sound and lighting, along with experience in hospitality and audience engagement, while working in a real world performance venue environment.

The program includes five sessions per group and is limited to six students per group, with high school sessions held on Tuesdays and college sessions on Thursdays.

Open House is Thursday, April 16

An open house for interested applicants is scheduled for Thursday, April 16 at The Roadhouse at Angle Lake Station (map below), where all training and work-based learning activities will take place.

Organizers describe the program as a youth-centered workforce initiative aimed at building skills, providing paid opportunities and exposing participants to career pathways in arts, culture and event production.

The Roadhouse is a live performance space serving South King County and communities along the Federal Way Link Extension, providing free cultural programming while supporting local talent development.
