Out with the old, in with the goal – SeaTac’s historic Bull Pen Pub site is being reimagined

The landscape near Angle Lake in SeaTac shifted this week as heavy machinery finally brought down the remains of the historic Bull Pen Pub.

After standing vacant and charred since a devastating fire in 2016, the derelict structure at the corner of S. 200th Street and International Boulevard was leveled by excavators Thursday morning, April 30, 2026.

While the old pub is history, the site’s new chapter is timed perfectly for the world’s biggest sporting event.

A Premier Fan Zone for FIFA 2026

In a strategic move to welcome global visitors, the City of SeaTac has partnered with Métier Brewing Company to transform this prime real estate into a vibrant, open-air community hub. Located just a short walk from the Angle Lake Link Light Rail Station, the space is being fast-tracked to serve as a central gathering point for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

What’s Coming This June?

Starting in June, the formerly fenced-off lot will debut as an “activation space” designed to capture the electric atmosphere of the tournament. Here is what visitors can look forward to:

  • Local Flavors: Craft brews and refreshments courtesy of Métier Brewing.
  • Vibrant Atmosphere: A rotating schedule of live entertainment and local community programming.
  • Prime Location: Easy transit access for fans traveling to and from the matches.
  • Consistent Hours: The site will be active every Thursday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Legacy Beyond the Pitch

The World Cup festivities are just the beginning. City officials have indicated that once the final whistle blows on the tournament, the site will undergo a formal groundbreaking for a permanent development. The long-term vision is to establish a lasting community asset that serves the heart of the Angle Lake neighborhood for years to come.

For those looking to dive deeper into the city’s logistical and celebration plans, you can find the full breakdown of SeaTac’s FIFA World Cup 2026 initiatives at the official City of SeaTac website.
