Overnight SR 99 lane closures start Monday, Feb. 23, in Des Moines, SeaTac for utility work

by EditorFebruary 20, 2026February 20, 2026

Overnight lane closures on SR 99 begin Monday, Feb. 23, in Des Moines and SeaTac for utility work, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).

From 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, Monday, Feb. 23, through Friday morning, Feb. 27, and Monday night, March 2, through Tuesday morning, March 3, right lane closures are planned on SR 99 between South 200th Street and SR 516. At least one lane will remain open in each direction during the work.

Contractor crews working for WSDOT will inspect water utilities beneath SR 99.

This work supports a project that repaved two miles of SR 99 between South 200th Street in SeaTac and SR 516 in Des Moines. Construction is nearly complete and should finish this spring.

For up-to-date traffic information, use the WSDOT mobile app and the real-time travel map.
