The Rotary Club of Des Moines and Normandy Park is bringing a diverse lineup of speakers to its weekly Wednesday meetings this August, offering insights into real estate, athletics, and community events.
The club meets every Wednesday from Noon to 1 p.m. at Marina Mercantile, 22341 Marine View Drive S. in Des Moines (map below).
“We have a fantastic lineup of speakers this month, covering a wide range of inspiring topics,” organizers said.
These meetings aren’t just for members – they’re open to all:
- On Aug. 6, club member Tony Hettler will share his perspective on the shifting real estate market, including seasonal trends and neighborhood-specific insights.
- On Aug. 13, Dr. Phil Willenbrock, District Athletic Director for Highline Public Schools, will discuss how the district fosters a culture of “scholar athletes,” emphasizing academic success alongside performance on the field.
- The Aug. 20 meeting will focus on preparations for the Poverty Bay Blues & Brews Festival, taking place Saturday, Aug. 23. More info and tickets are available at DrinkToMusic.org.
