South King Fire and Rescue will bring holiday spirit and community giving together once again during its fourth annual Santa Parade and Canned Food Drive, running on select evenings between Dec. 1 and Dec. 16, 2025 across South King County.

The event, which began in 2020, pairs festive fire trucks and Santa’s helpers with a food drive benefiting local food banks in the department’s service area.

According to South King Fire, the parade has collected more than 3,000 pounds of food each year since its inception.

This year’s parade will roll out on Dec. 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, and 16 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. each night.

Community members can participate by donating canned or nonperishable food items. Bags should be ready to hand off to Santa’s helpers as the parade passes by. Organizers ask that all food donations be unopened and not expired.

“It’s incredible to see children’s faces light up when they see Santa on a fire truck. It’s one of my favorite parts of the Santa Parade,” said Captain Anthony John in a statement from South King Fire.
