In the early hours of July 1, 2024, a Des Moines Police Department officer spotted a reported stolen vehicle traveling westbound on South 240th Street.
The officer followed the vehicle while waiting for backup.
Police said the pursuit led to a dead-end street on South Kent-Des Moines Road, where the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. The officer gave chase and successfully apprehended the suspect.
The suspect was booked into jail, with additional charges pending.
The owner of the vehicle has been contacted to retrieve their property.
