On Sunday, Nov. 1, between 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Des Moines will do more than set clocks back one hour — the community will Turn Back the Hands of Time and step straight into a Back to the Future-inspired celebration at the 21st Annual Bayside Brunch at Anthony’s Homeport.
After years of change and challenge, this beloved tradition returns with renewed purpose, and a whole lot of heart.
“Turn Back the Hands of Time” reminds us of the longing to rewind life, restore love, and fix what needs fixing. “The Power of Love” celebrates the courage, boldness, and unstoppable energy that comes from community connection. Together, they form the backbone of Legacy’s Vision and Mission:

A Waterfront Brunch With Timeless Style
Anthony’s Homeport will come alive with 1980’s greatest Back to the Future tunes, Chefcrafted brunch favorites, locally and regionally curated Silent and Live Action items, and a Paddle Raise for the Future of our Youth, Teens, Families and Seniors!
Guests will enjoy a morning filled with Northwest seafood, pastries, fruit, eggs benedict, crepes, carved meats, creative dishes, and mimosas that make the brunch feel like a feast across timelines.

DeLoreans, Costumes, and Photo Magic
Start up the Flux Capacitor…Local collectors will showcase gleaming DeLoreans — complete with gullwing doors — creating a photo experience that transports guests straight into 1985. Costumes inspired by Marty, Doc, Lorraine, Biff, and the entire Hill Valley crew are encouraged, especially since the event lands the morning after Halloween.
It’s a chance to dress up, laugh, pose, and capture moments that feel both retro and timeless.
