DMFMKidsDay16The Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market is getting ready to launch its last month of the 2016 season. If you remember, we usually ran thru October, but the weather is just too unpredictable, so we decided for safety sake, to end the season September 24th.

Wednesday’s Market, Aug 31:

This Wednesday’s Sunset Market is the last of the season and we are having special guest dancers for everyone’s enjoyment. The Mount Rainier Pacific Islander Club will be on hand to perform some of their native dances. Ginger Lotulelei, their advisor, mentor and cheerleader, says this organization is making progress for a better education and helps achieve academic success for the students. Come by to eat, shop and show them your support. Saturday’s Market, Sep 3rd:

Sweet Caroline'sNew Vendor – All of Sweet Caroline’s jams are made in small batches the old fashioned way, using copper preserve pots. In order to keep the jams fruit forward and use less sugar, all jams are made using no additional pectin. Because some fruits are naturally lower in pectin than others, some of the jams are a little looser than what you might find in a grocery store. But then, most jam you find in a grocery store isn’t made by hand. Market Sponsors – Vickie Bergquist State Farm Insurance (Business & Professional Women) Music – 5 Buck Band 10-12 & Moe Ribs 12-2 Food Trucks – Charlie’s Buns N Stuff, Jemil’s, Nibbles, Sweet Bumpas & Wicked Pies DMFMKidsDay16Don’t forget next Saturday Sept. 10th is one of our Special Day events – it’s Kids Back to School/Safety Day.
