  1. Is there ever going to be more content that is not a sponsored post? I am sure this is a great school, but I visit your site for local news, events and happenings, not ads.

  3. Probably not.
After the last election, with the Blog literally shutting off all political dissent (by completely turning off the comments), nobody trusts them to provide unbiased news anymore. Most of us had no idea the Blog was an apparatchik of Mayors Kaplan and Sheckler until then.
    So, standby for more ads…

    1. Dan Kennedy – you’re highly misinformed and incorrect.
The Waterland Blog is not an apparatchik of any politician(s) in Des Moines AT ALL.
We are a totally independent local blog run by a family-owned business called South King Media, which runs five other blogs in the Des Moines/SeaTac/Burien area (see http://www.southkingmedia.com).
FYI, commenting was shut down last fall because of misinformed commenters hijacking this as well as our other blogs, and had NOTHING to do with the election. To try and inject any kind of ridiculous conspiracy theory is completely wrong!

PS: Advertising from local businesses is how we support our local blogs…

      1. Scott–“highly misinformed and incorrect” is a very polite way to describe this guy. Please be aware that the vast majority of people who read your blog appreciate the contribution you make to the communities you serve. Keep up the good work.
