In partnership with the Highline Medical Center and the Highline Medical Center Foundation, the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Public Safety event on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. for residents and business owners in the Southside region. The event will take place in Somers Auditorium at Highline Medical Center, located in Burien. Here’s more from our friends at the chamber:

Attendees will enjoy a FREE opportunity to hear from industry experts on how to better manage their own personal safety both at home and at work. “There are simple things or changes that everyone can do to create a safer environment for those we care about the most,” said CEO/President Andrea H. Reay. “We are grateful to work with our members and partners to provide this opportunity to make our homes, community, and businesses a little safer.” Following an opening networking reception, Melissa Flaherty, Director of Pharmacy for Highline Medical Center, will share information regarding safe disposal for medications and the new take-back kiosk recently rolled out on the medical center’s campus. In addition, Ted Boe, Chief of Police for the City of Burien, will offer a presentation on crime prevention through environmental design. We will also be joined by incoming South King County Fire Chief, Vic Pennington. The evening will wrap up with a Q&A panel discussion with all three speakers, followed by coffee and refreshments. “Public safety is a major focus for all of us at Highline Medical Center,” said Danielle Amstrup, Executive Director for the Highline Medical Center Foundation, “and we are pleased to invite the community to learn more about ways to protect yourself and your family.” All are welcome to attend this community event.
