The City of Des Moines is inviting residents to connect with city staff during a series of informal summer “Neighborhood Pop-Up” events, beginning Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Wooton Park in Redondo.

The event will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and offers residents a chance to meet staff members, ask questions, share concerns, and enjoy a free Otter Pop in a relaxed outdoor setting.

“This is your chance to chat with City staff about what’s on your mind — big or small — and enjoy a refreshing Otter Pop while you’re at it,” organizers said in the announcement.

The pop-up series is designed to bring local government directly into neighborhoods for casual, accessible community engagement.

Future pop-ups are scheduled for:

  • July 7 at Cecil Powell Park
  • August 18 at Midway ParkAll events run from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to drop by, say hello, and take advantage of the opportunity to ask questions or raise issues in an informal setting.
