City of Des Moines seeking public feedback on its 2024 Hazard Mitigation Plan

by EditorJune 7, 2024June 7, 2024

The City of Des Moines is seeking public input on its Hazard Mitigation Plan.

What is a Hazard Mitigation Plan?

A Hazard Mitigation Plan is a proactive strategy developed to reduce the risks and vulnerabilities associated with natural and human-made hazards. Its primary goal is to minimize the impact of disasters on people, property, and the environment. By identifying potential hazards, assessing risks, and implementing mitigation measures, communities can enhance their ability to withstand and recover from disasters.

As community members, your insights will contribute significantly to the development and update of the Hazard Mitigation Plan for the City. We want to ensure the plan reflects the diverse needs and priorities of our whole community.

We believe that by working together, we can create a more resilient and prepared city that is better equipped to mitigate the impacts of future hazards. Your involvement is essential to our success.
