The City of Des Moines is inviting residents to participate in its “Safe and Sound Summit,” an initiative aimed at developing the city’s 2024 Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The summit will provide an opportunity for the community to learn about the risks posed by natural hazards and contribute ideas on how to reduce those risks.

Residents are encouraged to register for surveys and public meeting invites by scanning the QR code below provided by the city. Community participation is a crucial element of the plan, as the city seeks to gather input from residents to ensure that the plan addresses the specific needs and concerns of the Des Moines community.

“Have your voice heard,” organizers said. “Community participation & input is an important
component of the plan.”
