by EditorSeptember 8, 2025September 7, 2025

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Highline branch and the League of Women Voters (LWV) of Seattle will co-host a special public meeting on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Des Moines Library.

The free event will feature guest speaker Vicci Rudin of the League of Women Voters. Rudin will share insights on the history and role of both organizations in supporting local politics and explain how candidate forums operate.

The meeting begins at 11:15 a.m. in the Des Moines Library Meeting Room, located at 21620 11th Ave. S. (map below).

Residents are invited to learn more about opportunities for civic engagement and how to participate in local democracy.

Organizers emphasized that the event is open to the public and encouraged community members to attend.
