Waterland PrideFest returns for its fourth year on Saturday, June 21, 2025, with a full day of events celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community through art, movement, music and togetherness across downtown Des Moines.
Since its debut in 2022, Waterland Pride has grown into a vibrant tradition centered on visibility, inclusivity and equality.
This year’s PrideFest includes a morning fun run, waterfront farmers market, afternoon performances and an evening celebration for adults.
Event Highlights:
- 🌈 9:00 a.m. Park Run – Des Moines Creek Trail: Kick off the day with a free, family-friendly 5K run/walk/sashay at Des Moines Beach Park.
- 🌈 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Waterfront Farmers Market – Des Moines Marina: Pride Day at the Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market=
- 🌈 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Pride Market & Celebration – Backstage Alley: A warm and inclusive crowd ready to celebrate love, identity, and community! Drag performances on the elevated patio behind Second Love Coffee. Family-friendly fun, including free art activities for kids.
- 🌈 Evening Celebration at Creole Soul: Conclude the festivities with a 21+ evening of Southern hospitality, strong drinks, and community at this locally owned bar and restaurant.
