2013jazzonthelawnJust when you thought things were cooling down around here, along comes Seattle-based Jazz artist Gail Pettis to heat up the night with soulful, sultry and steamy Jazz vocals along with lively interpretations of standards – all on the lush lawn of Cedarbrook Lodge this Friday night, Aug. 9! Her live performances have been described by Earshot jazz as going “…from strength to strength, performing a winning, crowd-involving style of vocal jazz.” A Native of Kentucky, Gail has been local to Seattle since 1996, and currently performs in all sorts of locales as far flung as Kobe Japan, or the Netherlands, yet she can also be found close to home, lighting up the night with soothing melodies. Though her style screams “veteran songbird”, Gail’s journey to professional musician status has been something of a surprise since this is a second career for her. Gail is a Harvard trained Orthodontist, who successfully created beautiful smiles, until selling her practice in 2006 in favor of creating smiles through song instead. Gail will perform this Friday night Aug. 9, as part of Cedarbrook Lodge’s ‘Jazz on The Lawn’ series. General Admission prices are $20 in advance; $25 at the door. Don’t miss this swingin’ evening – it’s sure to make you smile!
