The Inkfish Gallery will debut a new exhibition on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, showcasing artworks by local artists George C. Scott and Fred Andrews, with a public reception from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

George C. Scott is a lifelong artist whose mastery of glass, metal, and form reflects decades of innovation. From his early silversmithing to bold architectural installations, George’s practice is rooted in deep material knowledge and fearless experimentation.

Scott transforms cast, blown, and fused glass into immersive installations and architectural works that shimmer with history and imagination.

He has created work for high-profile clients and institutions alike, developing both custom commissions and commercial product lines. Since 2004, he has worked out of a large studio in Des Moines, Washington, where he continues to explore the creative possibilities of glass through ambitious architectural and sculptural projects.

Scott is the CEO of the Inkfish Foundation and works closely with the Des Moines Legacy Foundation.

Andrews is a multidisciplinary artist whose work has been exhibited and published around the world. He has worked with the Seattle Arts Commission, was art director of the Seattle Weekly, art curator for Panera Bread, taught Running Start for Highline College, and was on the faculty of Cornish College of the Arts for 20 years.

He is currently on the board of the Des Moines Legacy Foundation in charge of public art and works with the Highline College Foundation.

Andrews’ artwork in this exhibition includes a variety of mediums. The collection is a retrospective going back over 50 years and relates to the title of the show, The Visible World and the Other One.

Performing at the opening reception will be the great jazz guitarist, Ron Peters, who studied with Joe Pass and Pat Metheny. He has worked with the Manhattan Transfer and the Don Ellis Orchestra. Peters is an alumnus of the Berklee College of Music in Boston and has numerous album credits to his name.
