The Krull family’s 2025 “Dinner or Pardon” turkey food drive collected a record 8,538 food donations that will be provided to Transform Burien, organizers announced.

The annual event marked its eighth year and continued the family’s tradition of gathering donations to support local residents experiencing food insecurity during the holiday season.

Organizers said the volume of donations reflects strong community engagement and generosity.

“Wow!! Such an unbelievable amount of food this year! Eighth year of turkey pardoning is in the books. We’re so grateful for our community and everyone’s generosity,” organizer Candace Krull said.

The “Dinner or Pardon” event encourages community members to donate food items that are later given to local service organizations.

Transform Burien, a community non-profit that provides meals, clothing and support services, will happily distribute this year’s donations to local families.

“Everyone! This was absolutely crazy good! 🦃🙌 We can’t believe the amount of food you all gathered to vote to pardon the turkey! The generosity of our community is truly amazing,” Transform Burien said.

“Huge thank you to the Krull Family (and their turkey 🦃), the Marvista Elementary families 🏫, and our incredible local community. Every single item will help families and individuals in need,” they added.

“Our hearts, and our pantry, are overflowing!”
