A temporary overnight closure will shut down the Kent-Des Moines Road and Pacific Highway intersection from 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, to 5 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, according to the City of Des Moines.
City officials said eastbound and westbound through-traffic on Kent Des Moines Road will be closed during the eight-hour window.
Northbound and southbound left-turn pockets on Pacific Highway will also be unavailable.
Detours will be posted.
The city said the closure is required for traffic signal work being completed as part of the Sound Transit Traffic Mitigation Project, which affects travel routes serving Des Moines, SeaTac, Kent and nearby South King County communities.
Residents with questions are encouraged to contact Sound Transit’s 24-hour construction hotline at 888-298-2395.
