The Des Moines Police Department is inviting community members to celebrate the retirement of Community Service Officer Tonya Seaberry, recognizing her more than 30 years of service to the city.

The retirement gathering will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Des Moines Police Department Community Room at 21900 11th Ave. S. (map below), according to the department.

Seaberry is being honored for her “hard work and dedication during 30+ years serving the City of Des Moines,” the department said in its announcement, which encourages residents, colleagues, and others whose lives she has touched to attend.

“Congratulations on your retirement Tonya! We wish you the very best retirement has to offer,” police said in a statement.
