2013jazzonthelawnREMINDER: Cedarbrook Lodge’s ‘Jazz on the Lawn’ series continues this Friday, July 26, with Sweeter than the Day! The show begins at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are $20. Sweeter than the Day is fronted by Wayne Horvitz, a composer, pianist, and electronic musician who has performed extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America. He has performed and collaborated with Bill Frisell, Butch Morris, John Zorn, Robin Holcomb, Fred Frith, Julian Priester, Philip Wilson, Michael Shrieve, Bobby Previte, Marty Ehrlich, Skerik, William Parker, Ron Miles, Sara Schoenbeck, Peggy Lee, Steven Bernstein, Briggan Krauss, and Dylan van der Schyff among others.   • July 26: Sweeter than the Day (quartet featuring Wayne Horvitz plays modern yet very accessible jazz)
  • August 9: Gail Pettis (renowned Seattle jazz vocalist, together with trio of top musicians)
  • August 23: Susan Pascal’s Brazil Project (local premier vibes player and her band featuring the rich rhythmic and melodic traditions of Brazil)
