A shooting on a northbound Metro A Line bus left one man dead on Monday afternoon, Aug. 26, 2024, and the suspect remains at large, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 2:20 p.m. as the bus was traveling on International Boulevard near South 216th Street (map below).
Officers from Metro Transit Police responded to the scene and found the victim unconscious on the bus. Firefighters arrived shortly after and administered life-saving measures.
The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where sadly, he later died from his injuries.
The suspect fled the scene, and despite a search, police have not yet located the individual responsible.
The bus, which had about 40 passengers at the time of the shooting, quickly emptied as many passengers fled after the bus came to a stop.
Authorities have not yet identified the victim, and no description of the suspect is available.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials are asking anyone with information to come forward.
