A Tukwila Police officer was assaulted on Friday, June 7, 2025, after attempting to arrest a man for trespassing at the Southcenter District, according to a statement from the department.

Police said the individual had been asked to leave the property and was given multiple verbal warnings to comply.

Although the man initially exited the building, he then attempted to re-enter through a different entrance.

“When the officer attempted to take the offender into custody for trespassing, the offender attempted to bite the officer then began fighting with the officer before being taken into custody,” police said in a statement.

The officer ultimately took the individual into custody without serious injury.

The suspect was booked into jail for investigation of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and obstructing a public servant.
