Des Moines Police officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle on Sunday morning, Nov. 10, 2024 sparking a short pursuit after the driver refused to pull over, authorities said.
The suspect eventually lost control of the vehicle and crashed near South 216th Street and Marine View Drive South (map below).
The driver then attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended with the help of a K-9 unit from the Federal Way Police Department.
Police reported that the suspect had multiple outstanding warrants in addition to facing new charges stemming from Thursday’s incident.
“Thank you to our officers and the FWPD K9 team for their teamwork and quick response in bringing this incident to a safe resolution,” police said.
