The Vintage Band, also known as “The Band of the 1900s,” will perform a free public concert honoring Remembrance Day on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church in Des Moines (map below).
The concert, set to start at 2:30 p.m. and conducted by John Welsh, will feature a program that blends traditional concert band selections with patriotic tributes.
Pieces include An Original Suite for Military Band and Simple Gifts from the suite Simple Gifts, Four Shaker Songs.
In commemoration of Veterans Day, the band will also perform The Vanished Army (They Never Die), I Vow to Thee My Country, Taps for Wind Band, and Salute to the Armed Forces.
Following the performance, attendees are invited to a free-will offering dinner in the church’s Fellowship Hall.
