Two informational signs at Marine View Park in Normandy Park were vandalized recently when they were forcibly removed from a railing and thrown onto the rocky shoreline below.

The signs, which described local marine life, were later recovered but were too damaged to be reinstalled, the city said.

“These signs were a valued educational feature for many residents and visitors,” Normandy Park City Manager Amy Arrington told South King Media. “The city is exploring options for their replacement.”

The vandalism also damaged part of the park’s wooden railing, which city crews are scheduled to repair this week, according to the city.

Officials did not provide additional details about the vandalism or any suspects.
