The City of Burien’s popular Arts-A-Glow festival returned Saturday night, Sept. 6, 2025, shining a spotlight on community creativity with light-based art, performances and interactive installations.

The free, family-friendly event was held in downtown Burien from 7 to 10:30 p.m., marking the festival’s 18th year.

The festival showcased projection mapping on buildings, glowing art installations, roving performers, a bustling night market, interactive activities, and exhibits in local businesses, all set against the backdrop of enthusiastic crowds.

Festivalgoers were invited to join the fun in costume and carry their own lanterns, with organizers sharing tips for making glowing jars, balloons, pie tins and even jellyfish to add to the illuminated atmosphere.

Attendees also explored a vibrant night market, visited the glow-in-the-dark Highline Heritage Museum, dined at local restaurants, and enjoyed art activations in stores and public spaces.

This wonderful annual event was organized by Burien Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services (PaRCS) staff in collaboration with local artists, along with 4 CultureAlaska AirlinesDiscover Burien, and The B-Town Blog. More info at https://artsaglow.art/.
