A reckless driver was taken into custody Sunday morning, Jan. 12, 2025, after losing control of their vehicle and colliding with a Des Moines Police patrol car during a traffic stop.
Officers on patrol observed the driver operating their vehicle recklessly before the individual lost control in front of the police vehicle.
While being stopped, the driver struck the patrol car (see video below).
No injuries were reported in the incident, and the driver was arrested at the scene.
The suspect is facing multiple charges, including driving with a suspended license.
The Des Moines Police Department reminded the public about the importance of safe driving practices to prevent dangerous incidents on the road.
