They say that timing is everything, and did we ever hit the weather just right last Saturday with the sun shining on us before it turned sour. If you are into canning, now is the time to get your peaches, nectarines, plums and apricots!
The big Clutter to Cash Sale is this Saturday (Aug. 15). All the booth spaces are fully booked so put on your bargaining hat and look for lots of great bargains. The sale takes place in the Horseshoe area in front of the Marina Office.
Vendor Profile: Longtime market vendor 18th Ave Pasta just keeps getting better. Their pasta is made using only the freshest ingredients. They use vegetable purees, not powders, which they believe gives their pasta an extraordinary flavor. Most Saturdays, owner Jack Armstrong is at the booth explaining their unique processes in their hand crafted pastas. They are in several farmers markets in King County every week. Jack’s inspiration came when he spent a few months in Amsterdam where he was introduced to a unique noodle bar. The restaurant married simple noodle dishes with an artful ambience. Their pastas are featured in some of my free Cooking with Wine Recipes at the Farmers Market Wine booth.
Food Trucks: Charlie’s Buns N Stuff, Mini the Dough Nut, Nibbles and Peasant Food Manifesto Music: Flannel Asparagus Sponsors: Visit Wesley Home’s booth to learn about their not-for-profit retirement communities and in-home care services.
