Last Saturday at the Des Moines Waterfront Farmers Market was not only a sunny day but a big crowd enjoyed shopping at the season’s first Clutter 2 Cash sale. Some even asked if we couldn’t do this every week……yikes! The next sale is July 23rd. This coming weekend is the celebration of the Fourth of July. To help celebrate, the market’s Foundation is holding the wine sale of the year. It is a full case only (12 bottles) sale. You can purchase the markets wines for $11 a bottle or $132 per case. Our normal price is $15 per bottle. This would be a good time to stock up on wine for all your summer patio parties or in some cases weddings or anniversaries. Something new and exciting on Saturday will be a young patriotic entrepreneur, Payton Adams, working his way thru college by carving out of wood the American Flag. Each flag is created carefully and handcrafted so the final product will make you feel proud as an owner. Approximately 8-10 hours is put into each flag by cutting, routering, sanding and staining. Flags are ready to hang and will make a beautiful addition to your home. He is having a Fourth of July sale of $150, normal price is $175. Stop by and say hello to a local boy doing good. We are happy to report that after many requests from shoppers, Yellow Belly Honey will make their first appearance this Saturday. Their honey is made with pride in Rainier, Washington. They’ve made it their mission to bring you beautifully packaged premium raw honey at an affordable price. Wildflower, their signature honey is harvested from hives at Yellow Belly Farms. Their other selections: Fireweed, Blackberry, Lavender, Clover, are harvested from hives put on other local farms; or sourced from local farms using best practices, including healthy pesticide free hives.
