This past Wednesday evening, May 7 the Des Moines Dollars for Scholars held their reception for their 2014 scholarship winners at the Des Moines Activity Center. This annual event celebrates local students who have gone through a selection process and been chosen to receive scholarships from local donors. Des Moines Dollars for Scholars is a non-profit organization affiliated nationally with Scholarship America. They work to help hometown students get connected with organizations, endowments and businesses in the community that provide scholarship funds.
