The Des Moines Historical Society is reporting that only about two dozen tickets remain for a three-hour cruise (“a three-hour cruise”) of the South Puget Sound aboard an Argosy Cruises vessel departing from the Des Moines Marina on July 19.

The cruise will take place Sunday, July 19, aboard the Lady Mary. Boarding begins at 12:30 p.m., with departure scheduled for 1 p.m. The vessel is expected to return to the marina at approximately 4 p.m.

According to Des Moines Historical Society President Richard T. Kennedy, the event marks the first time such a cruise has been offered since 1989.

“The last time such a cruise was offered was 1989 so don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity,” Kennedy said in an announcement.

For $100 per ticket, passengers will receive unlimited fountain sodas, coffee and tea during the voyage. Alcoholic beverages, sandwiches and snacks will be available for purchase onboard.

A speaker from Des Moines-based SeaLife Response + Rehab + Research (SR3) will narrate portions of the cruise.

Organizers said outside food and beverages will not be permitted. Purchases onboard will be limited to credit cards, debit cards and mobile payments, with cash not accepted.
