The City of Des Moines is asking residents to share their ideas on the future of local parks, programs, and events through a new community input survey open until Sept. 15, 2025.

The survey, organized by the city’s Community Enrichment Services Department, will help shape upcoming recreation programming, facility use, and community activities.

“YOUR feedback will help us understand community interests and needs so we can plan programs, events, and facility use that best serve Des Moines,” the city said. “The survey should take about (5) minutes to complete. Please answer based on your own experiences and interests, and select ‘No opinion / Not applicable’ where provided if a question does not apply to you.”

The survey is anonymous and is available online in multiple languages.

Paper copies can also be picked up at city facilities.

Residents can weigh in on priorities such as parks, public spaces, community events, and recreation services.

The city said survey results will directly influence future planning and investment in recreation.
