The Des Moines Legacy Foundation this week announced the appointment of three new board members.
Each brings a diverse skill set and a shared commitment to enhancing the community through the foundation’s charitable initiatives:

Pierre Blosse
Pierre Blosse, the founder and president of IVYX Scientific, a company specializing in science and medical equipment, will serve as the foundation’s vice president. A longtime supporter of the organization, he lives in Des Moines with his partner and their son, with another child on the way.

Mallory Lemmer
Mallory Lemmer, a finance and risk management professional, has been named board secretary. Originally from Chicago, she holds a business degree from DePaul University and serves as studio director for the Inkfish Foundation Community Arts Hub in Des Moines.

Konstantine Komarov
Konstantine Komarov, a Seattle-based filmmaker and musician, joins as a general board member. He is the creative force behind Media Assets Production and a musician with the band Walking Papers. His work with the Des Moines Theater inspired his involvement with the foundation, where he hopes to help strengthen the city’s arts and culture scene.
“We are thrilled to welcome Pierre, Mallory, and Konstantine to the board,” said Patrice Thorell, the foundation’s president. “Their diverse backgrounds and dedication to community service will help us further our mission of enhancing the quality of life in Des Moines.”
The Des Moines Legacy Foundation supports local programs and initiatives aimed at improving parks, promoting the arts, and expanding opportunities for all ages. The foundation is seeking additional board members, and those interested can apply through its website.
Bayside Sneakers Ball will be June 14 at Des Moines Yacht Club
The foundation also announced its annual Bayside Sneakers Ball, scheduled for June 14, 2025, at the Des Moines Yacht Club.
The fundraiser blends formal elegance with sneaker culture, with proceeds supporting local projects.
