EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a Letter to the Editor, written by a Reader(s). It does not necessarily reflect the opinion of The Waterland Blog nor its staff:]
To Whom It May Concern: We have known David Gehrke for over 50 years. His father and mother and family were members of the church we attend. They were both hard-working, honest, giving, happy people and were a joy to know. They have raised David with the same values. We whole-heartedly support David’s run for the Judge of Des Moines Municipal Court. We believe his integrity, his wisdom, and his dedication are above reproach. He will do the right thing! We were co-owners of Des Moines Drug store here in Des Moines for many years, and now our sons own it. They also know David and would agree with all we have said. – Darlene and Richard Malmo[Have an opinion or concern you’d like to share with our Readers? When a business owner/operator has a business in Des Moines, we are honored for their presence. If however the business owners do not live in Des Moines and do not vote in Des Moines, they should keep in mind that we, as residents of Des Moines, are the ones who must live with choices that they do not. This explains why you rarely see a business sporting campaign signs as it may deter customers. We love you drug store and always go there before anywhere else for the great variety you offer.
