REMINDER: African Community Housing & Development’s (ACHD) SeaTac Farmers Market will continue this Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024 in the east parking lot of Matt Griffin YMCA.

The market will be open from 3 – 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month through November, with future dates including September 4, October 2, and November 6.

The market will be held in the east parking lot of the Matt Griffin YMCA (map below).

Building on the immense success of the Delridge Farmers Market, the SeaTac Farmers Market fosters a vibrant space that supports BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) business owners and ensures access to healthy, fresh food for the SeaTac community. The market features a diverse line-up of vendors offering locally sourced produce, flowers, prepared food from global chefs, artisanal goods, and more.

The market is a program of ACHD, a Black women-led nonprofit serving King County’s African Diaspora.

“We’re thrilled to expand our vision of abundance and community service to SeaTac,” said Bilan Aden, Vice President and Co-Founder of ACHD.

The SeaTac Farmers Market is committed to addressing food insecurity and promoting health equity. The market provides free produce bags, will accept SNAP/EBT, and doubles the purchasing power of SNAP users with SNAP Market Match. Additionally, every child attending the market will receive a $5 Kid Bucks voucher to spend on nutritious food.

The SeaTac Farmers Market nurtures a space for neighbors to connect and access valuable community resources. In alignment with their slogan, “center culture and cultivate community,” the market also provides free health and wellness resources such as diapers, personal care products, home cleaning products, and more.
