The City of Des Moines Senior Services Advisory Committee will be hosting a paper shredding event this Thursday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Des Moines Activity Center. This is a perfect event for getting rid of all those boxes, file drawers, and years of old paperwork you don’t want to simply throw in the recycling. • Items accepted are: paper (staples ok) such as receipts, invoices, bills, bank statements, cancelled checks, file folders, and envelopes.
  • No cardboard, newspaper, boxes, X-Rays, or plastic.
  • Maximum amount per person is 10 file sized boxes of papers.
  • This event is open to all residents of the City of Des Moines and Normandy Park.

  1. I would like to extend my appreciation to the organizers of this event and to the Waterland blog for promoting it.
I now have a large cleared space under my desk into which I can shift some of the remaining clutter into. I’ve needed to do that for years.
