Des Moines Police are deploying a new radar trailer in school zones and other areas where speeding and traffic safety are concerns, the department announced this week.
The trailer will be moved to different locations throughout the city, and is intended to remind drivers to check their speed and slow down.
Police said they will pay particular attention to school zones as students return to school starting this Wednesday, Sept. 2 and Thursday, Sept. 3.
“You may notice our new radar trailer popping up around Des Moines,” the department said. “The trailer gives drivers a reminder to check their speed and slow down.”
The department is urging drivers to slow down and stay alert.
