Destination Des Moines has elected new officers to its Board of Directors following an vote on Oct. 22, 2024, with members choosing leaders to guide the nonprofit’s community-focused initiatives and tourism development in the year ahead.

The new board includes:

  • Marnie Sevores as Interim President, serving through Jan. 20, 2025
  • Saundra Mock as Vice President with a term through Jan. 19, 2026
  • Michele Saga as Treasurer
  • Natalie Woodmansee as Interim Secretary, also serving until Jan. 20, 2025.

The organization also acknowledged continuing support from other board members, including past President Tony Hettler, Justin Taillon, Jason Bliss, Christie Sanam, and Juan Felipe Gutierrez Sanín.

Founded to foster community engagement and promote Des Moines as a destination for business, tourism, and events, Destination Des Moines partners with the City of Des Moines, the Seattle Southside Regional Tourism Authority, and the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce. The nonprofit has spent 14 years supporting community cohesion, small business growth, and economic development by enhancing Des Moines’ natural attractions, such as the Marina and Beach Park.

“We look forward to continuing partnering with the City of Des Moines in bringing events to the City to help build community, such as yesterday’s Halloween Trick or Treat Path,” DDM said in a statement. “DDM will continue its commitment to the citizens and local businesses to produce public events that unite our community.”
